Keith Haring's 'Self Portrait' returns to Astor Place undercover of the night
Keith Haring's "Self Portrait" has returned to Astor Place at Third Avenue... EVG reader 8E shares these photos of workers putting the sculpture back in place last night...
Workers removed "Self Portrait" in September 2020 for conservation work.

Love it or hate it, it has become an icon of the EV. Welcome back. We have three major sculptures in the EV.....the Alamo (The Cube) by Rosenthal, Red Rabbit by Koons in the lobby of the IBM and the Self-Portrait by Haring. You could not have three more different works from three different movements in just 100 feet from one another unless you were in a museum setting. Kudos for the EV.

DeleteI remember seeing Keith Haring's work on the Subway when I was young. His was a big loss.
