The upscale sports bar, part of a mini chain, closed after service on Sunday.
Per the door signage, they'll be merging with the Chelsea outpost later this summer...
The EV Ainsworth opened in December 2017.
Previously, this corner space was home to Village Pourhouse, the pub-crawling hosting hotspot ... for 11 years.
And all together now — bring back the Roll-n-Roaster!
Would much, much prefer Roll-n-Roaster to Ainsworth or anything even remotely Ainsworth-like.
ReplyDeleteI keep meaning to look into city records but I suspect this row of buildings is being bought up for development. There's like one other restaurant in this stretch left, and the buildings don't exactly look maintained.
ReplyDeleteThe former bar Village Pourhouse had a more local feel to it which i liked. It was a great place to watch Sunday football or trivia. The Ainsworth felt too stuffy and pretentious. Ainsworth is more for the Midtown crowd.
ReplyDeletePourhouse was a good pre show place for when Webster Hall had good shows.
ReplyDeletewhere do I take my bro's from finance now?
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone can turn it into a smokeshop? Those seem like the popular new blemish.
ReplyDeleteThey will not be missed.
ReplyDeleteHAH BYE!
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice place to watch a sports game in the cabanas with a few folks. Unfortunately the bro's and broette's just couldn't control themselves.
ReplyDeleteBuh bye! Maybe they'll reopen in Murray Hill.
ReplyDeleteI live right nearby and they won't be missed. Honestly, at this point, I almost welcome someone doing a big development on the block. I'm truly sick of the empty storefronts and general malaise. (Uh oh. This is how they get you to stop resisting...)
