If you'd like to make personal attacks and libelous claims against people and businesses, then you may do so on your own social media accounts. Also, comments predicting when a new business will close ("I give it six weeks") will not be approved.
Leaving your crap on the sidewalk is annoying for residents and the people that have to clean this up. How about beautifying the city by not leaving your discarded trash for others to manage. Grow up.
ReplyDeletePeople leave out things for others to take. Ideally they'd bring it to Housing Works or another charity, but a lot of stuff does get rescued. Someone posted a picture of this in Buy Nothing, and quickly updated to say that the knobs on the drawers were just removed and it was graffitied. Real shame.
ReplyDeleteYeah the whole idea of leaving things out for other people is just an excuse to not dispose of it properly resulting in unnecessary expense to the city. Perhaps these do gooders that are leaving their trash for 'others' should contact Housing Works or some other charity and donate appropriately.
ReplyDeleteI’ve left out lots of things for others to take for free. Everything I have put out got taken quickly and hopefully put to use by someone who appreciated it.

There's a big difference between trash and things like still useable furniture, clothing, kitchen items, etc., that people so often put out. At the start of the pandemic, when people were fleeing the city in droves, I would wander the neighborhood and just pick up the things they had left for someone to take - canned and packaged foods, jewelry, a pair of Top Gun sunglasses, an unopened case of White Claw (man is that stuff overrated), new items - not trash by any stretch of the imagination.
