Agreed — a beautiful shot. Sadly, Tompkins is endlessly a filthy mess. Garbage bins overflowing, trash everywhere, ripped up grass, terrible smells.
I’ve thought about going there in the early morning with a box of trash bags to clean it up a bit (like the videos you see of citizens cleaning parks, beaches, etc.). But why would I waste my time & energy? It’s just gonna be a disgusting mess 24 hours later. The city gov’t doesn’t care, Parks Dept. is worthless, and, frankly, the people who leave their trash there and are too spoiled to clean up after themselves don’t care either.
