  2. Even the Delancey Street McDonalds feels calmer than Twitter right now. A few months ago I told someone that in five years Twitter and Facebook probably won't exist anymore. Just like Geocities, AOL, Friendster and MySpace, these online spaces tend to become much less useful and more uncool over time. Of course he didn't believe it, but I had no idea that Elon Musk would step in to speed up the demise of one of the best social media news and opinion sources.

Elon is such a jerk that in one week he has somehow managed to piss off many of the best content creators, who are either deleting or suspending their accounts, and advertisers at the same time. Telling users to vote Republican didn't help either, especially after the Red Wave turned into the Red Wedding.

Elon Musk's obsession with fake accounts has led him to alienate many of the real, popular accounts who just want him to go away and not mess things up any more. He originally wanted t charge $20, but after Stephen King said he would never pay Elon reduced it to $8. Charging $8 for a verified account hasn't worked as thousands of fake accounts keep popping up every day. Twitter is losing $4 million per day, and there is no way there are enough people who will pay $8 to make up for those losses. Not sure how long it will survive now but it sure is entertaining to watch the daily shitshow.

    1. You didn’t mention that he laid off half of the company on the way, largest number among tech companies to date. And now engineers might risk being liable for any inappropriate handling of user data.

  3. As someone who doesn't care one way or the other about Twitter, I've been surprised to find myself enjoying the Twitter chaos. It's been an amusing distraction from the chaos of real life.

  6. The fake Ben Shapiro account hanging with the fake Ted Cuz account last night was hilarious. I really loved twitter but at least it is fun watching that nut job destroy it.

  7. I would love nothing more than to see FB and Meta go down. They just had a major layoff, after opening huge office space in Hudson Yards. Not sure what math they're using, but it doesn't seem to work in reality.

  8. I love how everyone here is better in business than Zuckerberg and Musk.
