What's happening to our neighborhood ( 50 year resident here ) is beyond gentrification hell it's beyond hyper gentrification the grid from 14th street to Houston 4th ave to A has been gutted of so much of the ole flavor, vibe and verve and over the next 5 years will be striped of all of it, the new lux condo buildings and rehabed buildings filled with very temporary housing rentals that are so expensive that only the bland, entitled and over worked will be able to occupy them it's a bloody shame while it's not in anyway as severely implemented it's greed accomplishing the type of destruction of a culture going on around the world
ReplyDeleteGreat just what the neighborhood needs more $5,000 a month apartments that the 20 somethings financial and tech crowd will utilize as party crash pads. At least the bars and restaurants in the area will appreciate their business.
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason we've been called "Murray Hill South".
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be an office building with ground-floor retail... not a residential building...
ReplyDeleteWell then never mind...
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started hangin’ around
