Signage alert: Burgers on B

Signage went up over the weekend for Burgers on B, a new hamburger joint opening in the weeks ahead at 168 Avenue B between 10th Street and 11th Street. 

EVG contributor Stacie Joy has been in touch with the owners, and we hope to have an update soon. 

The space was last Barnyard Cheese Shop, which closed in October 2021 ... before a brief encore presentation as Barnyard Express.

    Still missing Barnyard; anyone know something similar in the area?

    Good question. All the great little shops we had in the area have been priced out. Russo's on 11th Street between 1 and 2nd has cheese and great mozzerella but not a big selection. Murray's Cheese in the West Village. Union Market on A. Still miss East Village Cheese. DiPaola's on Grand, again Italian but bigger selection.

    A burger joint? Does anyone who opens a business in the city actually walk around the neighborhood and see what’s missing?

    Bedford Cheese on Irving between 18 & 19, too.

    Good news. I now will have something substantial to eat which isn't bland pizza while awaiting for my clothes to wash at nearby La La Laundry.

    I miss Barnyard so much…. I thought their management of the situation starting in 2020 , & the outdoor seating, were so well done.
