After nearly 20 months since the start of storefront renovations at the address, the Panda Express officially debuted today on the SW corner of First Avenue and 14th Street...
Employees were handing hand Panda Express keychains as well...
This marks the latest outpost for the quick-serve Chinese restaurant chain that launched in California in 1983 ... with more than 2,000 locations today (with a handful around NYC).
An AT&T store was here for a few months... taking over for the Vitamin Shoppe.
Posted hours here at this location: 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
I cannot believe it took almost two years to launch this location. Welcome to the hood, Panda.
ReplyDeleteIt's insane how long its takes for these businesses, small and/or large, to get the required permits and approval to finally open. Seen so many "signs up" but they don't open for months.
ReplyDeleteI was uptown this weekend and saw a Panda Express, and since we've been waiting forever for this location to open, I went in and checked it out. The employees were welcoming and friendly and helpful. I ordered a ton of food, which was pretty damn good, and it was more than enough to feed two or three people...all for $16. I'm pretty psyched about this new option. Welcome to the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteYay I guess
ReplyDeleteCan’t knock it till I try it.
ReplyDeleteWhy go to Panda Express when Mee Noodle is literally down the street and is by far the highest quality Chinese Food in the hood?
ReplyDeleteStill hurting from the loss of Yummy House
ReplyDelete@10:42 Because it's cheap.
ReplyDeleteAnd cheap food is what you get with a corporate franchise. Over saturated crap. Hello....this has nothing to do with affordability in a bloated city.
ReplyDeleteIt’s not cheap. Orange Chicken Bowl is$10 something. Just Orange Chicken on White Rice. That’s not cheap.
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen the lines inside from the bus as I pass on my way home from work- all I think is fast times at ridgemont high and the mall….
