Proto's Pizza is closed for remodeling, and now under new management

On Monday, we noticed that Proto's Pizza was closed for a renovation at 50 Second Ave. between Second Street and Third Street. 

By yesterday, there was an "Under New Management" banner outside...
... with a sign noting that they'll be back open on Tuesday (Aug. 1!)...
Proto's has served up a solid slice since debuting here in 2012 ... new ownership took over in 2015.

    I hope the new owners install fountain soda. A cold, sweet cola is the perfect compliment to a slice of pepperoni.

    hmmm, they had some of the best slices in the hood, hope it stays that way.
