Wednesday's parting shots
The 6 a.m. view today of Mount Sinai Beth Israel on First Avenue and 16th Street... two hours before the hospital would close for good after 135 years of service to downtown New York...

My two children and my first grandchild were also born there. Sad day.
ReplyDeleteOur leaders have failed us. The disappearance of hospitals that once served the community for decades is yet another indication of the wrong road we are stubbornly traveling down as a society.
ReplyDeleteBut another Whole Foods will be opening in the vicinity soon. There's only one city in America and it's an economic powerhouse. Our leaders only want the rich now. You can always move, well, the rest of America isn't doing so well in many areas.

ReplyDeleteReal estate industry does not care about any of us unless they can sell us a condo. The rest of us can die for all they care, I add City Hall and all those complicit elected officials to that group.
