A Google search for the address turns up Ioannis Coffee Chef, a Brooklyn-based "farm to cup coffee company."
And per Google:
A vibrant addition to the East Village, Ioannis Coffee Chef offers a unique and immersive coffee experience. Stepping inside this new Manhattan location, you'll discover a distinctive micro-roastery and coffee bar where the art of coffee is celebrated.
Upperz Cafe and Bar was the last tenant here, closing after six-plus months in May. Previously, 787 Coffee spent a few years here before shutting down in June 2023 due to multiple break-ins and deteriorating quality-of-life issues along the corridor.
It's been a really tough location since the blocks around 14th & 1st became a magnet for homeless and mentally ill people over the last 6 or so years. Before 787 there was Champion Coffee which lasted a couple of years, and before that was Madman Espresso which had a run of about 5 years. So this is the 5th business in 8 years there
ReplyDeleteIt’s an iffy area but 333 east 14th st is a fabulous apartment building It was built in the 60s and it has huge windows and from the north side apartments you can see the Empire State Building. South side is the east village
ReplyDelete"Unique and immersive coffee experience" sounds like more than just a coffee enema.
