The first episode of the new FX/Hulu series "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette" shows the couple on a fictional first date at East Village old-timer Panna II. (Link.)
Reservations at Panna II at 93 First Ave. near Sixth Street reportedly surged 40% after the first episode on Feb. 12.
Some readers think this new awareness is a positive thing, as business has been off here in recent years, and Panna II is now the last of the Indian establishments at the once-vibrant restaurant address.

I was always a Milon guy ... back when there were four guys at the steps trying to get you into their restaurants... I'd just say no thank you and go straight to Milon. I miss that place so much and never felt right going to Pranna instead - it was the competitor lol
ReplyDeleteBack in the day Little India on 6th between 2/1 had many “Indian” restaurants It was said there was one big kitchen under the street. And those restaurants were really run by Bangladeshis.
ReplyDeleteI love those beef meat samosas
DeleteGreat for the restaurant. Sad because the show reportedly does not represent a truthful retelling of the JFK Jr. story and this means people are actually watching it.
