Lerivez Coffee opened earlier this month at 515 E. 12th St. between Avenue A and Avenue B.
The husband-and-wife team of Pedro Chavez (below) and Erika Chau, who both previously worked as baristas at other coffee shops, are now running their own neighborhood café.
The name combines Luna, the couple's dog, with "Eri" from Erika and the "vez" from Chavez.
As they told NY Locals, their goal is to create "a welcoming café where both coffee lovers and non-coffee lovers can enjoy a specially curated menu that truly has something for everyone."
Speciality drinks include an apple pie iced tea, peach cobbler cream soda and apple butter matcha.
For now, Lerivez is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. You can check for updates on Instagram: @lerivezcoffee.
