A brief floral intermission outside Key Food

Photos and reporting by Stacie Joy

A brief pause in the floral department outside Key Food...
The flower shop on Avenue A and Fourth Street is temporarily closed for renovations.

Work is expected to begin later today or early tomorrow morning, with the same team returning when the shop reopens in a few days.
Perhaps the remodel will include outdoor speakers so we can enjoy the Key Food soundtrack while picking out flowers. (Heh.)

  1. Grieve! Please!! As much as I love Key Foods' soundtracks, outdoor speakers are illegal!!!

BTW, it seems to be a trend - I was up in the Catskills this weekend, and a supermarket up there's soundtrack was great too!

    1. It's going on for ages now. Morton Williams on 2nd & 49th, Five Guys, seems like new wave and or grunge is the official soundtrack of retail.
Reminds me of Xmas '81 in London, when every single store had the Human League's "don't you want me" on endless repeat.
