Why it's very possible that Pommes Frites got a new deep fryer

Because one of the old fryers was on the Second Avenue sidewalk out front last night.

Think this will make for a nice decorative planter?

  1. auggggghhh grossss coagulated frying oil!!

Pommes Frites are the bomb, though. I get 'em with peanut satay and sweet chili sauce. Didn't need to know about these fat stalagmites, but it won't stop me from going.

  2. Heh. Yeah, it did kind of seem like some foodie Scared Straight.... Maybe the FroYo people did this to direct business their way....

And the fries here are quite good... I stay opt for Ray's, though.

  3. I hadn't been in ages but the other night I couldn't resist on my way home from Mars Bar. I was so excited and when I got there the guys gave me an extra large order for free. At first I was pleased by this, but then I realized they just gave me all the fries they had in the warmer, rather than making me a fresh order. I felt duped... Vulnerable to such trickery in my inebriated state. And wondering if it was worth the inhlatation of several thousand calories for less than prime pommes frites. Ray would never do this to me.. In the end I did pretty good damage to the cone and enjoyed them very much. They are damn good fries, even when served warm rather than piping hot. How long until my resistance falters again..

  5. I was in Ray's recently when a group of three women ordered a large serving of fries. Their mouths dropped when the heaping basket arrived and everyone else in the store just laughed. They could have fed everyone on the block.
