Abandoned eatery served eviction papers
Saw these papers up at Matsukado on Second Avenue near Sixth Street... the eviction notice is dated last week, though the short-lived Japanese restaurant closed in May. Maybe the owners kept the keys...

The owner has to go through the eviction process to formally regain possession of the property if the lease remains in effect, even if the tenant has abandoned it. They also need to do so if they have any hope of getting the back rent they are owed.
