No new customers, eh? I've been wondering if there were ever any real customers at all since it seems impossible to actually order one of these sandwiches.
Yeah, Goggla, I always figured this was some elaborate hoax... and someday we'll be treated to a book or TV movie on how some guy conned a lot of media outlets, etc.
It's no hoax. I just had one of this guy's sandwiches yesterday, and it was hella good. He said he was looking to expand by getting into a restaurant kitchen. Hope it happens soon!
@Melanie what the fuck is a foodie? Someone that can afford to eat whatever, and however high quality ingredients they want. Stop using your made up corny ass yuppie word. Everyone's a "foodie" if they're hungry and can afford it.

I love the sense of community on this blog, but sometimes the people who make fun of "yuppies," and other EV residents that are different from themselves distract from the people looking to build a sense a community based on diversity. Let's celebrate each other!
so, the fried chicken man with his $10 delivered plates seemed to be a rouse. i think he was promoting his band. it was impossible to order from him, although he did respond to some questions. i tried several times to order to no avail. now we have the grilled cheese guy. i tried to order and was sent to my space to contact him - something i've avoided for the longest time, joined, made my site as private as possible - and could not get information to "bread.butter.cheese" as he calls himself. i still don't know how to order. i make grilled cheese the same way (without the oven finish) and thought his might be fun to try. maybe he too has a band. i think food carts and folks like the cheese guy, etc. are a nice way to taste different types of food and meet new people. the new food truck gatherings are fun and many are not that expensive. and many have fabulous food (too bad halo berlin is gone). having money does not mean you can eat good food. some expensive stuff is crap. what us long-term folks object to is the hostile, "better than thou" attitude of many of those who come to our neighborhood and spend thousands of dollars a month for rent and then criticize folks that made this the neighborhood it is. why come here if the existing folks do not suit you. old timers don't discriminate, we just want to be respected for something besides hiw much money we can spend. for th neighborhood we created that is rapidly disappearing because money is respected by the greedy.
anon--a Foodie is a state of mind. Foodies are also concerned about food sustainability-food for the poor and homeless-we don't care for modified food-you sound like you are very low on the food chain.
@Blue Grass - I think a lot of young people DO feel that way. But when people tag us as yuppies from the get go, it's hard to find a balance. We are not all Woohooing, money dropping, rich youngins. But from the commenters here, you'd think the old timers assume anyone young who lives in the EV is an awful woohooing human being. It's hard to find common ground to build upon when that happens.
For example, Melanie makes grilled cheese at home, and she was immediately criticized for being a yuppie. How does putting cheese on bread in your kitchen make you a yuppie?
Okay, I get buying a lobster roll from some unnamed individual, but a grilled cheese? Even I can make those things myself, and I seriously have a hard time boiling water.
