Bus and bike lane hijinks from the weekend

On First Avenue and Second Avenue...

The obstacles just seem that more apparent with the presence of signs, of course...

  1. EVG someone ought to give you authority to hand out citations, because whenever someone's parked in the bus lane, you are right there seeing all!!

  2. Ha! May I also hand out citations to that group of "woo-wooers!" who invade every weekend?

  3. these lanes will never work.
they are cumbersome and dangerous and nobody seems to pay attention to them.
bikes don't need lanes, they need the entire street - and sidewalk - along with scooters and skate boards.
cars will double or tripple park to run into a store. cabs are the worst and have an exemption to park anywhere when going to prayers.
    etc. etc.
pedestrians are the ones that need special lanes. both on and off the sidewalk!

  4. I'm enjoying watching cyclists going the wrong way while using the Bus Lane. Reminds me of the old Shooting Gallery at Coney.

Wonder how they're going to whitewash the traffic fatality numbers in another year or so ?

  5. Saw an ambulance parked in the bike lane out front of Dallas BBQ. I guess this is ok...?
