A party at Avenue A sushi.... and on the sidewalk

We're getting word of a huge blowout last night at Avenue A Sushi (or G2 Kurosawa — little confused on the name these days). The line, which lasted a good portion of the evening, went north to Seventh Street, and then west on Seventh Street. All the while, the crowd blocked most of the sidewalk. Bob Arihood, who took the above photo, talked to some of the line dwellers, and was simply told there was a party.

Indeed.

  1. We were walking down A last night around 11:30 and saw this, initially assuming it was something for Pyramid. When we realized it was AvenueA Sushi/G2 I looked at their website and didn't see any event for last night. Searched Twitter and didn't find anything. I eventually sent them an email to see what it was and got a response around 6AM basically saying "what line?" Must have been a hell of a party, that line wrapped around 7A and down the street.

Thanks... funny, I couldn't find a thing on this either... Obviously, these 1,000 or so people got the word...
