I just got back from attending the lecture. It was very well done; the slideshow was informative and fun and the speaker was a very likable and knowledgeable guy. There was so much info, he had to rush a bit at the end but no matter; it was all presented nicely with the great theme that our area NEEDS PRESERVATION and that there is much to do if we are to keep the East side of Bowery (and the EV and LES in general) intact character and history-wise.
ReplyDeleteOh, and the nice lady at the door asked me how I heard about the lecture. I said, "EV Grieve, a blog about the area." She looked confused so I just said (half doubting my memory) that I heard about it from Bowery Boogie. Upon hearing Bowery Boogie, her eyes lit up and she wrote down my response. Sorry EV Grieve, but I panicked. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks anyway! I'm glad that you were able to go! I wanted to, but my day job had other ideas...
