And from Page Six ... a place I've been to a few times but only in the winter:

Another piece of old Montauk is up for sale: the Shagwong Restaurant & Bar, on the market for $6.5 million. Owner Jimmy Hewitt is ready to sell the place, built in 1927, which has attracted stars in cluding the Rolling Stones, Elizabeth Taylor, John Lennon, Yoko Ono and photographer and artist Peter Beard, whose work hangs on its walls. The whole building is on the block.

And speaking ELizabeth Taylor, RIP ... will watch "BUtterfield 8" again soon...

  4. My dear mother, now aged 83, swears that she and Elizabeth were always the same age, despite publicists' reports to the contrary.

My mom was the lucky Girl Scout in her troop who was given the honor of presenting a very pre-teen Elizabeth with a bouquet of roses during a publicity tour through New England many, many decades ago. Not sure which flick it was for, but my mother swears that Elizabeth gradually shaved nearly 5 years of her age by the time they were both 40!

Ahh, who cares. Elizabeth didn't need to shave years off of her age -- she always looked 10x more beautiful than those half her age.

    Good night, Mizz Taylor.

  5. Fantastic photo of Sauron's Tower! Er...

So sad to hear about Elizabeth Taylor. I've only heard over and over that she was a very nice person. In the days after 9/11, when people were gathered in the Armory awaiting news of their missing loved ones, a man told how he was crying on a bench. A woman sat down next to him, held him and gave him some kind words. When he looked up, it was none other than Elizabeth, there to give emotional support to those who needed it. What a nice lady.
