Ping pong table 1, taggers 0

Over the weekend, we pointed out that someone had tagged the 2-month-old ping-pong table in Tompkins Square Park ... Well, those claims from the owner that this thing is indestructible are so far proving to be true... The table is tag-free again....

  1. If this thing was sheathed in a coat of graffiti a la Chico, it would be killer...

  2. I love graf and tags (will y'all please go bomb the Verizon brown wall again?), but I think the TSP ping pong table looks cooler blank and white like this. Kinda minimalist and monolithic.

  3. A mural or graffiti covered ping pong table would be distractingly difficult to play on. Like a mural or graffiti covered tennis court or infield would be.

  4. When I walked past it yesterday, I did a double take-- I thought it was going to have the graffiti on it per your article and it magically was clean again! Leave it alone, people. There's no need to destroy the table. There's plenty of other places to paint. Glad it's back to its original state.
