In Tompkins Square Park, not everyone appreciate the corporate sponsorship for last night's screening of "Raging Bull."

ReplyDeleteDoes every damned thing have to be turned into a garish marketing nightmare? The whole neighborhood has gone middle class.
Bloomberg didn't sponsor this free movie in the park, a new mega-entertainment corp did. And this chalk writer would begrudge them a few kiosks? Imagine when the writer discovers (if he/she attended) that his/her free image can be used to promote this new venture!
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter if it's sponsored? Who else is going to pay for it? These movies are a lot of fun and I could care less if the people throwing it have a ton of money. At least they're providing something free for the neighborhood that brings people together for a good time.
