Update on the NYU dorm move-in day

Hurricane Irene pushed NYU's dorm move-in day from yesterday to today... As of 9:30 a.m., things were still quiet... people were smiling, welcoming, ambassadoring... parents didn't look too stressed out... no epic dad meltdowns about all the crap he has to haul... Still early, of course...

Perhaps we'll check back in later...

  1. According to NYULOCAL (NYU's news blog), 3N is the largest of all of the freshman dorms, so why would they include this tidbit in their online "Guide to NYU Dorms 2011: Third North" under the sub-header Sweet location: "...It’s also really close to St. Mark’s and a lot of restaurants, shops, and delis where booze is very accessible."

    Woo hoo.

  2. Yeah, it was definitely the beginning of NYU Season today! I came down 2nd Avenue and it was wall-to-wall students.

  3. The NYU invasion was unreal today. I've been here for a decade now but I couldn't believe the numbers I saw today, of gawking freshman with their families in tow, clutching K-mart and Bed/Bath bags.

  4. When will NYU have PARENT ORIENTATION, during which they provide a map of all the bars in the area, so Mom & Dad can see where their innocent little darlings will be getting skunk-drunk as soon as the 'rents are on their way out of town?
