Steven Tyler checks into the former Morrison Hotel Gallery space

As we first pointed out, the Morrison Hotel Gallery checked out of 313 Bowery at the end of September. In recent days, workers have been converting the space into Riff...

[Bobby Williams]

...which will feature the new clothing line that Steven Tyler worked on with Andy Hilfiger (Tommy's Hilfiger’s brother) for a rock-inspired clothing line called Andrew Charles. Tyler's 22-year-old daughter Chelsea also appears in the ad campaign... and in the window at 313 Bowery.

The clothing line is for Macy's, where Tyler will be tomorrow or something. Anyway, it's our understanding that this is just a temporary shop ... so get your leopards and scarves while you can...

On Bowery, seems like they are all just "temporary shops".

Now, if only I can convince all these carpetbaggers that 2.0 is over, maybe we can get our street back... and Kate Millet! Please help spread this rumor.

  5. Yay great news for bridge&tunnel and touristy housewives who like to bust out a "rock and roll" look once in a while.

IHOP, 7-11, Steven Tyler & Hilfiger--all makes sense to me.

  6. Let's see, Steven Tyler is a guy who would have absolutely fit in with the LES/E Village scene in the 70's and early 80's. He's now in his early 60s and is an eccentric man who speaks his mind without a filter, dresses to his own tastes, and in short acts nothing at all like a man of his age should.
But he doesn't fit in to the e village. Because he's selling clothes he designed. That people who have lived in the e. village for 30 years don't like.

    Awesome.

*this is in no way defending aerosmith's last 5 albums*

  7. "Andrew Charles"? Naming a clothing line after two of Her Majesty's offspring isn't very rock'n'roll to me...

If you really believe that he either "designed" or will be "selling" this crap himself, you really are gullible. And if the clothes are priced anywhere near what people living in this neighborhood can afford, I'll apologize, but right now, you're comment is incredibly ignorant. This will surely be just another tourist crap trap. Tyler may have fit in well here in the 70's, I might have even bought a shirt from him, but this ain't then.

    totally awesome.

  9. If they are going to sell the clothes in Macy's there is a chance that they are priced for normal people (ie tourists). If that beautiful woman from Modern Family and that woman from Charlie's Angels can have clothes in Kmart, I'm all for Steven Tyler having clothes in Macy's. Plus, there is that pretty cool Aerosmith ride in Florida that goes upside down in the dark. And isn't there something about going up and down in an escalator? Are there any more irrelevant tangents I have missed? Over all, this sounds way better than John Varvatos.
