Did it seem like a lot of people were moving this past weekend?

Of course it's commonplace to see people moving (in or out) at the end of a month... But this month seemed like more than usual... on Saturday morning, during a short walk, I counted 11 moving trucks/vans/station wagons in just a few blocks... anyone else notice more people coming and going...?

  1. The weekend around July 1st is always one of the most popular moving times in the city. All of the new hires out of college are moving in for the first time, plus those who had 1 or 2 year leases from when they first started working are moving.

  2. The NYU summer exodus was in full swing, I agree. It'll get like that again in August when the new crop comes in.

  3. I noticed it too up here in Sty Town but I think anon 9:32's explanation makes sense.
