Garage door at Downtown Auto now part of ad campaign for fashion label

Over at the former Downtown Auto Space on the Bowery and Great Jones... we always liked this mural ...

As this photo that Goggla sent us shows... it's now one of the many rolldown gates around the neighborhood featuring the latest ad campaign (it's about bringing back the nightlife to the city) from Cole Haan...

  1. Not only do I prefer the loopy mural over this ad, the sentiment of the latter gives me the creeps.

  2. Fuck Cole/Haan. Why would anyone aspire to be a reality TV "Star" is beyond me.

I've teetered on the edge of buying their shoes before, but now...NEVER!

  3. Is this an ad for Bristol Palin's latest reality show?

But Reality TV stardom is so appealing!

You're drunk 24/7, can punch people in the face with little provocation and no repercussions, cry rivers of mascara over insignificant and scripted life moments, and have a sea of triple chinned hogs sucking down Mountain Dew, planted in front of their fancy picture boxes judging you!

    Sign me up!

  5. There's another one on the hardware store on 2nd ave- something about these ads is disturbing- prefer grafitti borne of real artists than a corporation turning lively grafitti into a blank wall with creepy sayings.

  6. Are they encouraging prostitution? Dug addiction? Both? Are we sure Law & Order SVU is not the sponsor?
