I like the idea of more bikes but how goofy is this. If you are cool and you live here just buy yourself an old beater bike, lock it up outside and be done with it. Better to ride an old jalopy that fits you, that you are accustomed to rather than ride one of these clunky dopey corporate versions of a bicycle.

ReplyDeleteWhen I looked at the map yesterday and saw that there'll be a station literally right downstairs within steps to my building, I thought that maybe, just MAYBE, that I might sign up and check it out. But thank God, simple mathematics brought me back to reality again. Phew!

ReplyDeleteI'm not particularly cool, did just what you suggested and had my bike stolen. Is it because I'm not cool that it didn't work out for me? Any more suggestions?
What Kurt said. I've been through too many bikes to count. Or if not entire bikes, then bike parts. And "beater bikes" around here cost around $150 for anything rideable. Hardly "beater" pricing when you have to keep buying parts and/or new bikes, not to mention the $75 chain.
