Something Sweet looking for help to revive its East Village bakery

[EVG file photo by Dave on 7th]

Something Sweet, the family-owned bakery on First Avenue and East 11th Street, has been closed since July. There have been a variety of issues, including some health-related matters...

Now, though, the family is ready to get going again... and, as this ad shows, they are looking for some help...

  1. I love this place and wish them well.

  2. I wish more local businesses would reach out for help instead of doing the same thing until they're too far in the red to recover. Good for them. They can be more than the poor-man's Veniero's - and they can start with getting rid of those moldy layer cakes in the Window.

  3. There aren't moldy cakes in the window. Leave them alone.

  4. Best linzer cookies and nicest owners. Really hope they can re-open.

  5. Well, they're certainly right about what they "need". Because that's exactly what they haven't had (an actual baker).
I paid something like $2.50 for a small cookie that tasted like it was made from a box mix by a 6 year old.
They were good many years ago.
