How did they get those homeless guys to move? I hope they put them up in a hotel for a few days.

ReplyDeleteNot sure who else remembers this, but in 1984 Macy's ran a series of fall fashion ads in the Times called "Hanging on Avenue A", where clean-cut young men and women in frat- and sorority-type clothes posed in/on cars and in front of places by 7th and A like Leshko's, Ray's and Odessa (the original one). It was ludicrous to the extreme, but I see not much has changed in that respect in the ensuing 29 years.
