Looking over photos of Laurie and Lou from the last year or so . . . she looks so happy to be with him. A brief romance but apparently a beautiful one. She's not the only one who will miss the cranky but so often on target, Lou. RIP.

  2. I just received the news... via a facebook post from someone in Istanbul, Turkey. That's part of the legacy.

  3. "A brief romance"? They've been together for at least 15 years, hardly what I would call brief. I used to see them around a lot when they lived on 11th between 1st and A.

In high school I was living out of NYC, and hearing "Walk on the Wild Side" on the radio was the impetus to get back to the city as soon as I got out of college. Thanks, Lou - you made me miss this place so much I pulled up stakes and came back. Never regretted it. Wish I'd come back sooner. RIP.

  4. Well, brief as in . . . not long enough, regardless of the length.
