You can now rent the former 7-Eleven space on St. Mark's Place
We've been waiting for the "for lease" signs to arrive here at 37 St. Mark's Place at the site of the former 7-Eleven, which closed on Nov 30 as we first reported.
And brokers put one up yesterday.
The listing isn't online just yet. For now, the retail space in the Theatre Condo complex is almost all empty, save for Verizon Wireless store. In the corner slot, a retail outpost of DF Mavens ("The finest dairy-free ice cream in the world. Made in NYC.") will take the former Eastside Bakery (.net?) home.
Meanwhile, the empty 7-Eleven has been oddly photogenic…

eastsidebakery.net was so bad
ReplyDeleteThe STOP SEVEN ELEVEN campaign worked! We did!
ReplyDeleteWhat's it renting for?
ReplyDeleteThis landlord sucks, man. Lower the rents, put something of value, and maybe you'll make more of your money in the long run. Ridiculous.

ReplyDeleteThe listing isn't online yet. I heard that the space that DF Mavens is taking was asking $27,000
I would not rent this space if I were you, I placed a voodoo curse on that space which won't expire for another two years.
ReplyDeleteThis store was built on an old cemetery and bodies often burst through the floors.
ReplyDelete"Burst" do they? ROFL
ReplyDeleteI was in 7-Eleven one night and saw the bodies burst through the floor! I was in the mood for some yummy 4 cent pizza when I noticed the slice was just a kitchen sponge that had been cut into the shape of a slice. Slightly put off, I was about to ask the manager about it when a body came bursting through the floor! Then another! And another! The pine coffins shattered open and the bodies fell out on top of me!
ReplyDeleteOf course I immediately thought this was the fine work of that No 7-Eleven group - I just know they were behind Benghazi! - but the manager, not batting an eye, apologized and said it happens quite frequently. Seems the store was built on an old graveyard. Who knew?!
I'm opening eastsidefroyo.net right next to the dairy-free joint. February seems like a good month for the grand opening.
ReplyDeleteWe're opening Hoboken Hoof! See you soon neighbor!
