Blast from the 'Past'

Glasgow natives The Wake with "Talk About The Past" from 1984.

Yeah, I could see that. I wouldn't be surprised if Hooky took a crap in his hand and threw it at the band nightly...

  2. Great track! Yet again EVGrieve astounds me with its deep knowledge of UK punk/post punk music. I grew up near Glasgow and actually bought this 45 when it first came out, and saw the band live shortly afterwards in a miniscule club. They were good live but I think they were signed to Factory Records so when New Order took off the other bands on Factory got left behind. The lead singer of the Wake was also very much a clone of Bernard Sumner so maybe that didn't help.

Thanks! I vaguely remember them from that time… I recently came across a compilation CD, and have been listening to it quite a bit lately…
