It's now officially summer — what are you gonna do now?

[EVG photo from yesterday]

I'll be sunbathing at my usual spot on East 14th Street near First Avenue.

See you in the fall!

  1. Can I please drop off some Banana Boat or do you insist on using Crisco again this year?

I knew it would come to this. Even the act of going to the beach has become a self-serving kiosk. Can I get mine in a hoof?

Haha, yeah, in front of Papaya Dog. We saw a guy using it the other day.

  4. When I was a kid, before I moved to New York from Ohio, I thought the Ramones song "Rockaway Beach" was meant to be like a 50s beach-movie title. I didn't realize it was a real beach! Imagine my surprise when I moved here...

  5. I'm gonna sell at the Antiques Garage flea market on 26th between 6th and 7th today. Welcoming Summer and saying goodby to the old garage at the same time. Spot 85 upstairs.

  6. Did you apply for a sidewalk permit and liquor license for this? Will you be serving brunch? And what are the hours? 11am-4am?

Well, I want to do an early breakfast service there. So the hours will be 5 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily. If there's any resistance from neighbors, then I'm willing to be flexible and open instead at 5:15.

As for the full liquor, I want to be clear that it is ONLY to have something to pair with the suntan lotion. This won't be a rowdy bar. TRUST ME!
