Let's Dance

Manchester band Dislocation Dance appearing on Dutch TV in 1982. Catchy! But what's up with the cutaway shots to the toaster?

  1. I'm sure my comment will be censored because I'm not "anti-toast." I think toast is delicious for breakfast or anytime, like on a tuna salad sandwich. This blog supports toast haters and their anti-toastite toast hating. I'm weary.

  2. I like toast too. Don't tell my family.

  3. If they're gluten-free artisanal $4 toast, then yes I am an anti-toastite. But pair it with a spicy and brisk pear mead and a dry and light bodied champagne-like with tingling flower and pepper esters ginger carrot cider 75-years fermented and aged in a 17th c. oak-wood barrel made by Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos at their monastery in Burgos, Spain during a Mozarabic chant, then I am pro-toastite. Besides the pro-toastite vs. the anti-toastie is just another one entitled group against the other. Anyway, the girl in polka dots can make me toast anyday.

  4. This is really more about the toaster than the toast.

  5. OK, I get that we aren't supposed to like toast. But I just bought a loaf of bread yesterday before seeing this. Is it OK to make sandwiches as long as I don't toast the bread?

  6. What about biscuits? Biscuit toast or toasted biscuits! I am sure people will be lining-up for that and crying should it fall to the ground and it will make the pages of WSJ, NY Post, and Eater.

  7. it's becoming clear that people misunderstood my intent with the line about the toaster.

The toaster is, of course, a metaphor for Manhattan, and the toast being ejected from the toaster represents Citi Bikes NOT being returned properly to their respective docking stations. Duh!

Also, it is a good song.

  9. Well, the sole purpose of toaster is to make toast. I hear there's a sale of toaster at P.C. Richards.
