  1. Funny how a little holiday like Thanksgiving creeps up on you and without warning you come out of the cave you've dwelling in or the rock you've been sleeping under and all the restaurants are either closed or fully booked, Funny huh?

  4. is it ethical to receive a benefit from a charity when you can (theoretically based on the failed attempt at a dinner reservation) afford to provide for yourself?

  5. @ Dr.Scientist: If you can afford to pay for your own food, you should never take a handout meant to go to those who can't. It shouldn't even be necessary to state such a thing.

  7. You can have a donated dinner in lieu of a booked out restaurant -sounds like a poor excuse- as long as you donate something afterwards.
    If you don't then you are a leech.
