As far as 99-cent pizza goes, the stuff at Mamani at 151 Avenue A between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street is pretty decent.
Anyway, you may have to wait for another slice… the space is currently closed...

No word if this is a temporary or permanent closure for Mamani. The space had been on the market in recent years.
That's my old store Live Shop Die. Never have been able to bring myself to go back in there though, not even for 99¢ pizza.
ReplyDeleteWhere are the other $1 slice joints in the area? Joey Pepperoni on 1st b/w 13th and 14th; another spot on 14th b/w 1st and A. Anywhere else nearby?
ReplyDeleteThe best of the cheapest.
ReplyDeleteI too thought this was one of the better $1 spots. Vinny Vincenz is probably the best one around, but Mamani's is quite good for the price. Getting a pie for $8 although not a better value was perhaps a better deal since they'd make you one fresh. Hope they open back up.
