Joe Strummer died on this day in 2002



The lead singer of the Clash would be 62.

And, as we have done before, a look at the mural outside Niagara on East Seventh Street and Avenue A … as it has been modified since the spring of 2003…

And as you may have read, scientists recently named a spiky, deep-sea snail after Strummer — Alviconcha strummeri.

    Ah, I liked the way it used to look much better but oh well, it's great that it's there regardless. The random graffiti on it is sickening, tho I gotta say the LA ROC is historic and done nicely, similar to his Haring collabs, so I don't mind that.

    Chico's portarits are definitly part of the neighborhood...but boy ! This doesn't look much like Joe ! If he didn't have the glasses, the jacket and its name underneath, it could really be anyone !

    12th Anniversary of his death actually... Brother Joe's birthday is 21 August (a fellow Leo Lion).

    When I initially commented I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
