  2. Well, as Dylan said - because he's Dylan, and what Dylan says, no matter how mundane or remotely-relevant, is inveighed with the incontrovertible wisdom of an oracle, such that anyone who quotes Dylan is loaded with near-divine authority on any matter moving one to quote Dylan - because, who can argue with what Dylan said; who'd dare contend with the weight it bears in our culture? - well, I can't quite remember, now - but it's something that he'd gotten from this old black sharecropper who sang and played guitar and was recorded by Alan Lomax, I think - about "The Man," kinda thing.

  4. I was stuck walking through the park yesterday how "punk" fashion still lingers as the favorite style of rebellion decades after it was truly shocking and relevant. The music was full of energy and unpolished the way I like it.

Nobody looked fucked up or too high to be a pain in the ass to others and that I was grateful for, people enjoyed themselves.

  5. I was stuck behind a bunch of college boys talking about someone they knew who was president of his fraternity and he couldn't remember the name of the fraternity... on East 11th Street. Now that was shocking.
