It's diorama season at the Ninth Street Community Garden & Park
It's peephole season again at the Ninth Street Community Garden & Park on the northeast corner of Avenue C... as East Village artist J. Kathleen White has unveiled her 2015 collection of dioramas.
This year's theme: "Vital Niches"...
An EVG reader shared these photos...
White started creating and sharing the dioramas along the fence here in 2005. Here's her work from 2014 ... 2013 ... 2012 ... and 2011....
The 2015 edition will be up through Nov. 2.
P.S.
There's a free salsa concert Saturday afternoon in the garden...

Oh- that kind of salsa. Just not focused today.
ReplyDeleteTwo observations from clicking the links and checking out all 5 years of EVGrieve posts about her adorable work:
ReplyDelete1 - Her style has the same yumminess and simplicity as another New Yorker's - James Thurber.
2 - the further you go back in time on EVG the less likely people were to post anonymously. (My excuse? I'm so tired of punching in passwords I can never remember - and hate that google is watching every damn thing I do!)
I wish my nearby garden could come up with cool things like this garden does.
