New Order played a sold-out show tonight at Radio City... which is good enough reason as always to trot out this footage of New Order's
Here is the entire show...
Our friend Karate Boogaloo has more about this show at Stupefaction.
P.S.
And we will save Alex from having to leave this comment: It's not really New Order without Peter Hook.
Very cool they sold out, I wonder if they are doing older songs? Temptation and Age of Consent are masterpieces.
ReplyDelete1981 video is bomb, merci.
re: New Order at the Ukranian--that's what I'm talking about! THAT is the East Village I fell in love with. The history. The music. The coolness. RIP!!!
ReplyDeleteLast night Temptation was a highlight - they played a good mix of classics and songs from the excellent new album music complete...
ReplyDeleteBut radio city curfew did not allow them time to play final encore of Blue Monday. :(
Great show overall.
Here's the setlist via Brooklyn Vegan... I would have liked Thieves Like Us as well ...

Great live version of Everything's Gone Green! Didn't see this show. But used to see Ike Yard all the time at Pyramid. Yup, the EV used to be something all right.
ReplyDeleteUh, no. . . New Order's 1st NYC concert was a year earlier at Hurrah! (Broadway & 62nd) on Sept 26, 1980. Their first US gig was a few days before that at Maxwell's in Hoboken. The gig at the Ukrainian National Home wasn't even the first NYC date on their 2nd tour - that was the night before at the Ritz (yes, also in the East Village).

Thank you for clarifying that, Steve!
