From Farm to Table, sort of



A summertime scene as a five-man assembly line took delivery of watermelons outside Village Farm Grocery on Second Avenue and Ninth Street...





These guys are pretty much a Dream Team and will be tough to beat in any watermelon tossing competition. They'll likely go undefeated this coming season.

    some 20 years ago the winter ball game at this corner was drug dealers throwing snowballs at each other.

    we love this place. have been going for eons. seems there's nothing they don't have. we've even made thanksgiving from here. and super nice folks. great photo. jose garcia

    Cheapest price for trail mix in the EV at $5.99/lb.
    Trader Joe is slightly pricier but also a bit better in quality.

    It was originally called Torece's Pantry, owned by a man named Mr. Torece who lived in 170 Second Avenue. It was originally a traditional bodega selling sad-looking vegetables until it was Koreanized and occupied the storefront next door. (Originally it was just the corner of 9th street and 2nd avenue.)
