Ama Raw Bar debuts tonight on Avenue B

Ama Raw Bar opens this evening at 190 Avenue B between 11th Street and 12th Street.

Ama's website describes the place as "an affordable seafood restaurant with a unique asian raw bar."

CB3 OK'd a liquor license for the space back in July.

According to Ama's Instagram account, they will have a lounge area called the Kiki Room...

The previous tenant here, Kingsley, closed in late summer 2018 without any notice to patrons after three-plus years in business. Back 40 was also here for seven years.

  1. I miss Back 40. I never ate at Kingsley. Was it any good?

  2. Kingsley wasn't bad, and they had a great space and a great opportunity that the owner never realized. She seemed to have a literal disdain for her customers and it showed in the lack of interesting ideas to engage the community. Insanely high priced, especially for a spot on B and 11th (even in this day and age). Hopefully Ama uses the space well and works harder to make themselves a place people want to be.
