The extended plywood has been here for three-plus years during the construction of the luxury 9-story condoplex at No. 118.
As noted, demolition of the former building at No. 118 started in May 2015. So that's seven years of work for this one project...

ReplyDeleteUgly on the outside with no respect to the street or neighborhood. People walking by are assaulted by teh ugliness. But inside, it looks very nice inside. Surprised by the high price per square foot.

ReplyDeleteCan they open up the sidewalk where that restaurant is on the corner? Not cool how they took over that whole sidewalk. And even IF that all counts as one sidewalk, with the hydrants etc there is certainly not 8 feet on the other side of the fence. They're pissing me off.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I live above the Pujab and we hated that damn scaffolding. When it went up during the pandemic we were very worried that it could become an unhoused encampment like the one at C and third. We have friends who live near there and they told us how dangerous it was. We feel so bad for all the people who got displaced because of greedy landlords. We estimate that more than half of our building emptied out by May of 2020.I don't know how long it is going to take me and the people in my life to recover our sanity.
ReplyDeleteScaffolding should have very strict limits. 1 yr for 5 story apt etc. Not only devastating to area businesses, they become magnets for trash and rats, who jump out near one, as they walk by.
ReplyDeleteThat wooden shed coming down doesn't matter considering on the other side of it the sidewalk is impassable due to Bolton watt taking ownership of it.
