I don't get this post. Union Square has been a major retail/commercial spot forever. Past and current included:

    S. Klein On The Square, Mays, Ohrbach's, Virgin Records, Whole Foods, Burlington, Duane Reade, SEPHORA, Best Buy, B&N'S, Raymour & Flanigan, Petco, etc.and etc. However the Kellogg's NYC café* , which closed on 12/2019, was truly a rube POS:

"where tourists could buy a bowl of grocery store cereal for $1.50."

    1. One thing about the Kellogg's NYC cafe. In 2018 they hosted a cookie sale for the girl scout troupe who were all homeless young girls. People lined up to buy cookies. It was good to see in the news.
