And this pretty much sums it up: City's 45,679th Subway taking over former Downtown Music space on the Bowery

AKA, Are You Fucking Kidding Me?

Fork in the Road brings the news.

Previously on EV Grieve:
Downtown Music Gallery is leaving the Bowery

Alex has more on Downtown Music here.

P.S.
Can't wait to see the Subway Dude handing out coupons in front of the Bowery Hotel....

  1. Hi Ken,

Not yet. The renovations just started this week. So it should be operational by....say, Friday!

  2. Seeing as there is no way I would have ever gone in that record store, but there is a possibility I'll drop in the Subway, I say this is change for the better!

  5. Blech. Although I'd rather lament about losing yet another independent record store (RIP Sounds, Kim's, Etherea, Future Legend, etc etc), I'll just gripe about this: a Subway shop? Really?? Not enough of those? We're replacing it with a Subway. Great, awesome, spectacular.
