Michael had to go to Rikers; will be back

Michael has been sleeping in front of a renovated storefront on East Sixth Street. Next to the incoming Schwimmer Manor, actually.

This note appeared this week. As you can see, he had to go to Rikers, either as a visitor or guest. Not sure which.

His blankets are also stored here.

  2. I don't know if the message is for real or not. But I do know people have been sleeping here on the sidewalk of late.

  3. The 6th Street crash zone runs from 2nd to Ave A. The shit I see walking to work brings me back to 1988 living on S 2nd Street in Williamsburg down the street from No Mercy.

  4. Michael is just a psuedonym of Marc Jacobs, Another marketing scheme by Marc Jacobs for his line of "Blankets by Marc Jacobs" by Marc Jacobs from Marc Jacobs

  5. Degentrification or just good old fashioned urban blight?

  6. If this is real, it makes me sad. Michael has no place to store his blankets while he's away and, apparently, no one to look after his things.

  7. Now there is a graffiti Marc Jacobs tee shirt selling for $666.00
