This just might be my new favorite store cat in the East Village

Bobby Williams sent me this photo on Wednesday... it's the liquor store cat on 10th Street and Avenue C...

I never noticed the cat before... in part because it's not my usual liquor store ... Or maybe I have seen the cat but not his or her eyes...

Anyone know the cat? His or her name?

Anyway, from here on out, all cats, all the time.

  1. fantastic cat! love those eyes. of course, if Bloomberg City has its way there will be no more liquor store, bar, or bodega cats left.

  6. I agree with Jeremiah..if up to Bloomie..no one would be around in NYC..only him riding down the road in a horse and buggy.

  7. Nice cat. My favorite cat was always the guy who lived in SOS, the specialty food shop that just closed up a few months ago on Ave B. Great cat. Super friendly. Hope he's doing well.

  10. I vote for Mr. Cute! Beautiful kitty.

My favorite store cat is the little tortoiseshell at Zaragoza. She (I think she's a she) likes to hang out on the steps to the basement and in her little hidey-hole next to the door. I call her KitKat.

/approve of all cats all the time

  19. LvV, all calico cats are female so yes, the tortoiseshell you know is one. :)

I like the names Mr. Cute and Bowie as well. Will have to stop by to give the shop keepers some nice canned cat food for little Manino.

  21. His name is Manini (not spelled correctly)...
He is the best cat and one reason I frequent that deli...Freddie is another reason, a great guy and wonderful owner!

  23. I love this little kitty, but I never knew his name. He's always hanging around Freddie's place and the liquor store on the corner. I'll second that Freddie is a great guy. He always has a good smile and strong handshake for me whenever I go in there.
