East Village IHOP warns about advertises for new location

Up on the front door here along IHOP Way (aka East 14th Street)... Perhaps this is for the IHOP rumored to be opening in Tribeca ... The Tribeca Citizen is keeping tabs on the rumors of an IHOP on the corner of Church and Franklin.

H/T Eater.

  1. Looks like it's for their Carmine Street location, given the email address listed and previous announcements that they'll be taking over the corner of Carmine and Seventh Avenue South.

    I'm one unhappy future neighbor...

Ah, thanks... Didn't realize they had one in the works there... what was on this corner?

  4. It is my understanding that they will be building a new restaurant on an empty corner on the southeast corner of Carmine and Seventh Ave, and that the space will have entrances on Downing, Carmine, and Varick. This does include a Kumon learning center that's already in it's own little building (beside the Cafe Espanol restaurant).

Have to admit I'm a little confused now that I'm seeing this hiring sign and the total lack of construction outside my window (and no activity there since the announcement of the 49 year lease on the property). It should go without saying that this is all the buzz in my building as residents who've been here for decades (and entertain me with stories of cold-water apartments and the old mob presence in the neighborhood) are more than upset with this change.
