ReplyDeleteDamn. What a bummer. Jared is a great guy, and Big City is a great store. I have been shopping w/ Jared since he worked at the (now closed) Sound Library.

ReplyDeleteThe guy STARTED selling vinyl in 1997? That was like 12 years after CDs became the primary format. I'd say he's lucky it lasted 15 years.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't like to see any businesses closing in th EV because of rent increases I can say as a record buyer that Big City while being a very cool record store, catered only to a very specific clientele with the prices a little on the high side. If you want to survive you have cater to a broader audience and have reasonable prices. Whatever the case may be, I wish them well.

ReplyDeleteYes. Because cd sales have been declining steadily over the last 10 years, while vinyl sales have been on the rise. Sad to see another store close, even if their prices were a bit high.
Sad....but those who care, please keep supporting the record stores in the area: Academy, Gimme Gimme, Good Records, Kim's, and even the extremely knowledgeable gent who sells his records out of crates on Astor Place...

Знаменитые здания Лондона не оставят никого равнодушными, высотки и стекло офисов, а рядом – церковь серых монахов Лондон. Город Шекспира в Англии Стрэтфорт-на-Эйвоне увлёк меня экскурсиями по местности, где обитал и работал великий поэт и драматург. Я кой-как отпуска дождалась, для того чтобы поехать туда снова и с удовольствием посетить красивые древние города. Да так уж распорядилась судьба, что как раз чудесная мистика городов помогла мне отыскать и собственного будущего мужа.
